The Principal Bar & Restaurant is a unique and unforgettable place for any sized function. Built in 1901 for the headmaster of one of the oldest schools in Midland, it’s now heritage-listed for everyone to enjoy its classic charm and beauty.

We can tailor our unique spaces to suit your next occasion – from formal dinners or casual get-togethers, to birthdays, anniversaries, engagement parties and all in between. Whether you want something simple like canapés and platters, or a sit down meal with an à la carte or set menu, we offer a choice of meal options. And there are no hire fees to book any of our areas.

We love our location in the Swan Valley, and we’re proud to offer a range of the best local wines and our own craft beers, as well as a selection of other premium beers, wines and spirits.

And, to make it even easier, we’re conveniently located across from Midland Gate Shopping Centre, and just a five-minute walk from Midland Train Station.

Main Indoor Bar

Reserve your own ‘VIP’ section where old-school charm meets the best of modern style. Choose from 16 rotating beers and ciders on tap, including our very own craft brews.

Or let us choose the top-of-the-class, with a sample of boutique beers on the $12.50 Beer Taster Tray. We’ll make the seating and table arrangements the way you’d like them, with glass doors providing easy access to our beer garden.

Restaurant

Our restaurant is situated in the historical Headmaster Quarters. Here, you’ll dine in the oldest and most storied part of our building. The rich earthy tones of the jarrah and classic federation architecture combine to create a wonderful dining experience.

The Headmaster Quarters is available to book for morning teas, lunches, dinners, and private functions. With a capacity for up to 75 guests and with its own bar, this stunning space is perfect for birthday parties and work functions.
