The Principal is your premium local restaurant, bar and wine shop, located in the heart of Midland.

With beautiful red brick and timber floors, our heritage-listed building was once home to the headmaster of one of Midland’s oldest schools. Now, it’s home to some excellent modern Australian cuisine, award-winning Swan Valley wines, and locally-brewed beers.

Dine inside in the heritage listed room, or relax outside in nature. Whether it’s a casual outing with friends and family, or after work drinks, we can accommodate any occasion.

We’re open seven days a week
from 10 am until late with our kitchen open from 11 am.
Bookings can be made in the restaurant or online. Walk-ins are welcome, and you can pull up a table in the bar or beer garden any time.

Meet the chef

Ken Enriquez started his career in kitchens over 20 years ago.

Passionate about using seasonal and sustainable produce, the menu at The Principal features exciting modern Mediterranean dishes that pay homage to his Spanish heritage, as well as classic pub favourites.
